World's first HIV/AIDS service organization, founded 1981 in NYC. A starting point for newly diagnosed people figuring out treatment, support groups, and disclosure decisions. PEP must start within 72 hours of exposure — ER doctors can prescribe it; 24/7 hotlines exist for navigating off-hours. Undetectable = Untransmittable (U=U): people with HIV on effective treatment cannot sexually transmit the virus. All services free of charge to LGBTQ+ New York residents and allies.
