Federal initiative supporting LGBTQ+ older adult research and programs. For LGBTQ+ adults 50+ navigating aging, retirement, healthcare, housing, or end-of-life planning. Caregiver support is built into most LGBTQ+ elder programs — partner-led care is acknowledged and supported. Many LGBTQ+ elders went back into the closet when they entered nursing homes; SAGE-trained facilities are growing but still rare. Open at no cost to LGBTQ+ New Mexico residents and the people supporting them.
