Federally funded resource center providing training, technical assistance, and resources on LGBTQ+ aging. Useful for elders whose biological family is estranged and who need chosen-family-aware support systems. SAGE's National LGBTQ+ Elder Hotline (1-877-360-5428) staffs trained peer counselors weekdays. Many LGBTQ+ elders went back into the closet when they entered nursing homes; SAGE-trained facilities are growing but still rare. No cost — the program is grant-funded and confidentiality-protected.
