Aging With Pride

LGBTQ+ Elders · Colorado · Free

Federal initiative supporting LGBTQ+ older adult research and programs. A starting point for adult children of LGBTQ+ parents needing eldercare resources sensitive to their parents' history. Many LGBTQ+ senior centers offer programs, meals, and peer companionship — often free with suggested donation. Many LGBTQ+ elders went back into the closet when they entered nursing homes; SAGE-trained facilities are growing but still rare. No cost — the program is grant-funded and confidentiality-protected.
